green fest

The International Green Culture Festival Green Fest starts on Wednesday, November 14th at Belgrade, Serbia, and will last until Friday. Besides the competition program featuring short and amateur films with environmental themes it will offer an attractive selection of feature films in the revue program while also presenting two environmental festivals from the region, SEFF from Sisak, Croatia, and the first Slovenian international nature and environmental film festival G-Fest. Special guest of Green Fest will be Slovenian grand master of documentary cinema Mako Sajko, receiver of the Honorary Tree of Eden Lifetime Achievement Award at G-Fest. The short film competition will also feature Slovenian film Štraf, made by the pupils of Murska Sobota Elementary School 2, which received the expert jury award for best short film in the Junior category at this year's G-Fest. There will also be numerous accompanying events.
Last year's edition of Green Fest was put on the official UN Calendar of Events in connection to the »Year of Forests«. A year before, in the first year of its existence, Green Screen Fest got the award »Star of Belgrade« for the best project in the field of environmental protection in 2010.
